Glassy is a planning tool, not a safety authority. The information in the app does not guarantee safe conditions. Always assess actual conditions before and during any activity on or near the water.
About Glassy
Daily lake intelligence for people who live on the water.
Version 1.0.0 · Wisconsin
What Glassy Is

Glassy enhances lake life by helping lake-goers understand and plan around the best activity windows on the water. We also enable the comparison of different lakes to help boaters find more perfect days based on dynamic weather and water conditions. And we provide insights into hourly conditions, both day and night.

Weather apps may tell you what the atmosphere is doing. Glassy tells you what the lake is doing. Glassy combines wind, waves, water temperature, water clarity, DNR data, and lake-specific conditions into a single Lake Day Score — and generates an easy-to-digest morning briefing, hourly forecasts, and activity-specific insights for boating, fishing, swimming, and wind sports.

The daily briefing is delivered to your inbox before you wake up. And daily alerts are generated to highlight perfect activity windows or safety concerns from sources like the National Weather Service. You can turn alerts on or off anytime you're not at the lake.

Glassy Community Check-Ins
Ground truth
All government data sources are free and open. Community check-ins are user-generated and unverified — see Terms of Service.
Built By
Peter Murane
Peter grew up enjoying Wisconsin and Minnesota lakes. He built Glassy because he couldn't find a lake intelligence resource designed just for lake life and activities like skiing, fishing, swimming, sailing, and cruising.
Glassy is piloting on Wisconsin lakes. Don't see coverage for your lake? Request it. And please share your feedback.
We're as strong as our community engagement. Thank you for taking part and sharing your lake insights via the check-in feature. Have ideas to improve Glassy? Send them here →
